It’s easier to say ‘yes’, than giving one hundred explanations of ‘no’. Although, it is said that if you do good, good will come to you, many of us are being manipulated by others but don’t realize it. Maybe, it does feel good to be the one that people turns in for help or the one that has more knowledge, but in all this story you are consuming your precious time for your own growth and development. Friends or family, the ones that are the closest to us know exactly what buttons to push in order for them to achieve what they want, yet this doesn’t mean that we always have to say ‘yes’. Sometimes the word ‘no’ can be as powerful as the word ‘yes’.

Auditorium halls. Your breathing starts accelerating. You sit down into a chair far away from the professors and pray to have the slightest fate on the exam, maybe a light test version. All you think is passing the semester and the course itself. The sheet slides in front of you and your mind suddenly goes blank. You forget everything and start fidgeting into your seat. You try so hard to remember something, but not a clue. You give up. Turn the page white as snow and exit the room. You scored 0-1 to Stress. ‘Well done’!

We all fear something, no matter what. Some are experts in hiding it deep down in order to appear stronger, while others try to use it in their favor to obtain what they want. Life is challenging, but we shouldn’t back off and cry in a corner. We must know how to prepare all those sour lemons in order to obtain the sweetest result. The new virus has many people psychological and physically destroyed by losing their job or status, yet this isn’t the worst thing. The worst is to lose faith and to be afraid to start from the beginning. The ‘What if’ situation has people trapped in their bubble by not doing what they really like and want, since the opinion of others influences them. It influences them so bad, that they start acting by the society requests and rules. It’s easy to say ‘I will not’ opposite to ‘Let’s give it a try’.

COVID-19, a virus that for different generations has different ‘surprises’, it made me today reflect on the positive things that I’ve learned while dealing with it. Beginning with the urge to travel, every time that some money would end up in my pocket, till having fun all by myself without spending money. So, I’m writing this post, to let you know the lessons, that I’ve learned during the whole lockdown.

I’ve encountered in my life, many people from different cultures, who would show an interest, from where I was from. If I told them, I was Romanian, which was half the truth, I would be safe from questions, but as I would mention my other half, Albanian, I would be a mess of questioners. Many of my Asian friends were very curios, as where this little country located was, and the rest of my international friends would mention the Hollywood stars that had Albanian roots and appeared in music videos or movies (Rita Ora, Dua Lipa, Jim Belushi, etc.). So I’m writing this post to let you know what Albania is like and maybe why not visit it one day.

Every once in a while I try cooking something special. Not because I am a cooking fan. To be honest I’m a disaster, but I do cook to test my abilities on how bad can I be. Sometimes, I open with a great enthusiast my great-grandma cooking booklet and look for the Level 1 recipe, but unfortunately I always end up closing and tossing it in a corner. That old book with brown, turned pages that has been inherited generations after generations, makes me always eager to cook something of fine art. Beginning with the plates decorations up to the delicacies. My niche is desserts. So, whatever I cook: cake, mousse or fruits dipped in chocolate, my adventure ends by burning or turning upside down the food.

Home is where your mom makes you baked bread and serves you with a cup of hot tea and freshly made orange jam. Home is where people forgive. Home is where it brings us all together, and home is where you have sometimes a silly fight or two with your little brother😄.
Procrastination: a way to show Laziness or Fear?
Creativity comes with last-minute panic. Familiar with this phrase? I bet it’s pretty common this days, especially now in quarantine, to do our work/assignments a few hours before the due date. A wave of guilt washes us from head to toe and we still don’t take actions. We don’t take a step to stop that feeling, we ignore it with all our heart, but when the deadline is near, BANG! We are the most productive and creative persons ever. Although, not everybody can cope that well with due dates stress (lack of sleep, eating disorders, etc.). Some may have problems turning in their work and receiving a great feedback. But why do we do this? Why do we always postpone our assignments for the last minute?

Love is strange. Love is unpredictable. Love is fireworks. Either we love with all our heart or we don’t. There is no IN between. Love consists of rules. Rules that if are broken, we are confronted with consequences. Love is like a cupcake. We must add the right ingredients to have the perfect result. But can we trick love? Can we pretend to love someone only for something in return? Yes, no, perhaps. It all depends within ourselves. If we love the way they ‘love’ us, because we want something from them, then this is our choice and we can’t blame others. If we love somebody and the affection is not returned should we make a potion or start from scratch again? Maybe we skipped a step and the result isn’t phenomenal as we expected it. Maybe we wanted a fast result without working on it too much. But let me tell you something. There isn’t a perfect recipe for love and there isn’t a potion to make somebody love you.

What scares you the most is what you must conquer, at least this is what I learned during my life experiences. Nothing cuts more deep into your soul, than not being able doing what you love. Passion and logic have had always a fight between them. One that the human being has ignored for years, pushing it in the back of their mind. But no, the brutal truth hides there in our subconscious mind, remembering us every single moment that we are doing the wrong thing. It’s interesting how we lie to ourselves in order to show off, when deep inside us, we are dying. We die every second of our lives keeping a façade in front of our family and friends, because in the end we all want to appear fun and cool to be around. But this game is only consuming our precious time. Who wants a fake friend? No one wants that, and that’s why we end in an endless game between light and darkness.
